William Lamont Robinson (b. May 1972/Rabi Al Thany 1392 AH) known by his stage name Acklan, is an American musician, producer, and MC based in California.
After reverting to islam in 1993, he changed his name to Hasan. Officially Muhammad Hasan Rahmatullah. In 2022, he started Footprints catalog as an independent producer, engineer, writer, and fine artist.
Much of his work is done in his production and design house. Acklan Studios (Pleasure Mine Recordings), formerly in Westpark Village, Roseville California, where he handles production, recording, mixing and mastering. Urban Sufi Music (SESAC) independently publishes all of his music. All artwork is also done at the design house, under the brand name 21 Fortune Hills.
Acklan Studios also provides custom music production for independent artists. The imprint is also a platform for Acklan to release his own recordings. Acklan Studios/Pleasure Mine Recordings offers other services to independent artists and labels. This allows them to create a high-quality product without investing large amounts of time and money to release their music.
FKACO is one such venture. Established in 2012 as a Music Distribution, Logistics & Merchandise Fulfillment service for Independent Artists & labels.
Robinson is the Co-Founder of FKACO, a company that provides product manufacturing for music merchandise. Selling independent label digital downloads, CDs, vinyl, DVDs, books, and other music merch. Including brick and mortar stores and other distributors.
For over 20 years Robinson has been a pivotal force in the Independent Music community. As an Artist, Producer and Project Manager, he is well versed in various aspects of production, product placement, packaging, PR and international marketing in the entertainment industry. Including online, and traditional methods from sales through delivery and reporting & billing. Successfully inserting Primetime & Non-Primetime commercial content into major corporations such as: MTV, MTV2, PSP, VH1, ESPN, ESPN 2, SPIKE, DISNEY CHANNEL, USA, TNT, E!, COMEDY CENTRAL & TBS.
In 2015, as the director of FKACO, Robinson quickly injected his workflow into the company releasing over 35 physical albums in under 2 years by supplying International Indie and American based "Big Box' retail through WalMart, Target, Best Buy, FYE, Sears, Barnes & Nobles, HMV, Buy CD Now (Can), Juno Records (Uk), WOW, Redeye (Au), Arukereso (Budapest), Mondadori (Italy), iMusic & JPC (Germany) and more.
1994-2023
From 1994 to 2003, Robinson recorded records as Usephasan, traveling, learning to make beats and compose music. He then released full-length albums, EP's and singles from 2005-2010 as Autolect. Garnishing the name occasionally until 2020. In 2012, Robinson took on the Bil Basmala / Basmala moniker creating another series of albums with a few EP's and singles. In 2020, he resumed performing as Dhua. Released 3 more albums between 2020 and 2021. In 2022, Robinson produced a demo, and 1 album, 2 EP's with a few singles as HA Ya-Ali. Mellow jazzy hip-hop and thus a more mature classic hip-hop presentation.
Professional
Robinson launched Footprints under his creative agency Athar. In addition to curating his catalog, writings, artworks, posters, web design and development, merchandise design, and digital marketing consulting, he also provides online marketing services.
He also produces Nasheed, post-modern hip-hop & beat art for the Footprints Catalog, and the Traces collection on Pleasure Mine Recordings.
As a member of SESAC since 2004, he has marked his independent, sole-proprietorship and creative professionalism for over 20 years as an Independent Music Publisher (with over 550 compositions published).
As a Writer, Graphic Designer, Audio Engineer and Music Producer he gained practical B2B and B2C service knowledge. Multimedia formats including fine art, vinyl, CD, USB-Albums and NFTs.
